Product Description of Ammonium ferric citrate CAS#1185-57-5
Ammonium ferric citrate (≥99% industrial grade) is an odorless brownish-red amorphous powder. It decomposes when heated, features negligible vapor pressure and a density of 1.80. Highly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, ether and chloroform; stable under normal conditions but incompatible with strong acids, oxidants and reductants.

Ammonium ferric citrate functions as a high-absorption iron fortifier and anti-anemia supplement (oral dose 1–2 g), applicable in biscuits, milk powder and other foods except color-sensitive products. It follows specified dosage limits for salt, cereals, dairy, infant foods and beverages in China, and is also used as a raw material in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
