Product Description of Sodium Molybdate Dihydrate CAS#10102-40-6

Sodium Molybdate Dihydrate is a white crystalline powder or colorless crystal, highly soluble in water with solubility of about 39 g/100 mL at 25°C. Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline with pH ranging from 9 to 10. It remains stable at room temperature. When heated above 100°C, it gradually loses crystal water to form anhydrous sodium molybdate (Na₂MoO₄, CAS 7631-95-0). It reacts with strong acids to generate molybdic acid (H₂MoO₄) precipitate.

Sodium Molybdate Dihydrate (CAS 10102-40-6) has broad application prospects. Industrially, it is used as a circulating water corrosion inhibitor, metal phosphating agent and chemical catalyst. In the pharmaceutical field, it acts as a chemical intermediate and a reagent for enzyme research. In the electronics industry, it is applied to the preparation of semiconductor films and other components. In analytical chemistry, it serves as a chromogenic agent for the detection of heavy metal ions.
