Calcium gluconate exerts a protective effect against osteoarthritis (OA) in Sprague‑Dawley rats by inhibiting COX‑2 expression and reducing chondrocyte apoptosis. It also facilitates the removal of skin necrosis induced by calcium gluconate extravasation in pediatric patients during Versajet hydrosurgery.
